Actor Varun Dhawan has announced that the sequel to his recent film “Bhediya” will be released in 2025. The announcement was made on his Instagram account, where he shared a picture and a video from a recent event. The actor expressed his excitement and gratitude for being given another opportunity to play the character of Bhediya, and also thanked the director and producers of the film.
The announcement was made during a grand event hosted by Jio Studios in Mumbai, where they also announced their upcoming lineup, including 100 films and web series along with Shah Rukh Khan‘s Dunki, Randeep Hooda’s Inspector Avinash and more. The list also had Stree 2 and Bhediya 2. For the unversed, Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree is going to release on August 31, 2024.
The studio announced that they are expanding the Bhediya and Stree universes, and Varun was present to unveil the logo of Bhediya 2.
Jyoti Deshpande, President of RIL Media and Content Business, spoke about the exciting phase of Indian entertainment and how Jio Studios has been working hard to lay solid foundations in scaling what is traditionally a very fragmented industry. She also talked about the studio’s vision to power stories that are from, by and for India and Bharat, and partner with storytellers in every Indian language to take these stories mainstream.
“Bhediya” was released in November 2022 and was Bollywood’s first creature comedy directed by Amar Kaushik. The film starred Varun Dhawan alongside Kriti Sanon.
Meanwhile, Varun will be seen next in an upcoming social drama film “Bawaal” opposite Janhvi Kapoor, and in the official Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood series “Citadel”.
