Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer OMG 2 will see many changes even after getting an ‘A’ rating from the CBFC board. Read On!
“OMG 2 is under discussion for certification issues. It is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit film with the same name, starring Akshay Kumar. In the past few days, the film has been widely discussed online due to changes in certification from the CBFC board. The makers initially intended to obtain a U/A rating, but considering the demand for cuts, they decided to opt for an ‘A’ rating for OMG 2. In the latest update, the modified ‘A’ ratings have surfaced.”
OMG 2 will have these Modifications
According to a report from the Indian Express, the censor board has suggested some modifications based on the list of objections. In the film featuring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi, scenes with nudity need to be replaced with appropriate visuals for the scenes involving Naga Sadhus. It seems that there is also a dialogue suggesting offering alcohol to God as a offering that needs to be modified. Additionally, the producers of “OMG 2” have been asked to remove a condom advertisement poster and edit scenes describing unnatural sex acts from the movie.
A source close to OMG 2 reveals, “Akshay Kumar knowingly went into forbidden territory. He thought his clean image would prove him up to the challenge. Much had changed since he first played God in 2012. The political scenario in the country is unsparing. Clean-image Prabhas stands rejected as Lord Rama. The censor board has rightly admonished Akshay Kumar. How can Shiva Bhagwan be shown tackling a social issue like masturbation on earth?”
In fact, In this film directed by Amit Rai, there is a strange suggestion for modification. The makers of OMG 2 have been asked to change the usage of the word “chuha” (mouse) on a bottle of medicine used to kill rats. Additionally, scenes depicting taking selfies in a courtroom and references to places like Ujjain are also requested to be modified.

Controversy over ‘OMG 2’
“OMG 2” is primarily based on sex education, but due to the sensitive nature of the subject, there have been issues with certification. Additionally, some adult scenes in the film and the possibility of receiving an “A” rating have led to demands for the removal of certain scenes filmed at the Mahakaleshwar Temple. A temple priest named Mahesh Sharma has demanded the removal of these scenes and threatened to start a protest if his demand is not met.
This film is Akshay Kumar’s first and second in his career to receive an “A” rating in 12 years. His previous film with an “A” rating was “Desi Boyz.” Apart from Akshay Kumar, “OMG 2” also stars Yami Gautam, Govind Namdev, and Arun Govil. The film is set to release on August 11, 2023.
